CEO’S REPORT

As the new Chief Executive Officer of Care2Serve, I acknowledge the outstanding work of my predecessor, David Brennan. During 2022/23, David, together with Executive Manager Carer Services, Rachael Williamson, and the dedicated and professional staff of Care2Serve delivered essential supports and services to Tasmanian carers, while increasing the identification and recognition of carers amongst government, service deliverers and carers themselves.

The Carer Gateway and Home and Community Care programs continue to provide essential supports to Tasmanian carers. Each day, I hear our Carer Support Officers talking with Tasmanian carers, providing a shoulder and an ear when they need it most. In 2022/23, our staff delivered countless workshops and retreats, as well as in-home care and respite, coaching, and counselling sessions. Carers have let us know how satisfied they are with our services.

But we want to do more. Through our communications campaigns, we are reaching out across the State, to find hidden carers, those who do not see themselves as carers, but who also need our support. We do this to achieve our vision that carers will have excellent services when they need them, and to provide or connect carers with services that build and sustain their capacity to care for family or friends.
